Okay, I will work on my puns. I promise, but this time around, let it slide will you?
Food scene in Rome needs no introduction. I bet you have pasta and coffee in your mind right now? Am I right? If yes, don't forget to subscribe to my blog!
Anyway, here are my gastronomy tips for you to maximise your food hunt in Rome.
1. Learn their coffee culture.

If you happened to arrive in Rome in the evening, PLEASE DO NOT ORDER A CAPPUCCINO or anything that has milk in it.
(Okay you can order it but you are just giving away your identity. They will know that you're a tourist in a heart beat)

Image is from Google
Its not their culture to drink anything with milk except in the morning. Also please do order a cappuccino. Rome is famous for their cappuccino. Its so delicious. But I have to warn you, its so f*cking delicious its going to ruin your coffee experience. Its like you have tasted perfection and now you just have...starbucks? Blerghh
And please drink the coffee like the locals do! Order em, get the ticket (or receipt) and give it to the barista and drink em while you stand. DO NOT SIT.
(Alright again, you can sit but BAMM you'll end up with service charge. And again! No one needs to know that you're a tourist)
Must try: Coffee from La Casa Del Caffe
Its next to Pantheon!

3. Learn how to eat pasta using fork and only fork!
My tour guide, Stephano actually said this. "You can stab my heart with a knife but please don't cut your pasta with knife! and also no spoon either!
Honestly its a fun to eat pasta using fork only!
Must try: Cacio E Pepe

4. If possible, dont request any change from the chef
Rome is quite famous for its carbonara and being a muslim so I cant eat bacon! Me being ignorant, innocently asked the waiter if its possible for me to have the carbonara without the bacon.
Oh boy, her expression changed instantly. From Yes-How-Can-I-Help-You to UMM-GET-OUT-FROM-MY-RESTAURANT.
Later on I learnt, its rude to ask the chef to alter his cooking. Guess who ended up with a vege pasta.
After telling my friend my experience, he told me he had similar experience too. Except even worst. He asked for salt & pepper and the chef came out from the kitchen to ask him whats wrong..and he wasn't happy. Scary.
If I had a peanut allergy, I rather die than say anything about it :')
5. Say it right when you order
It doesn't matter if you visit Rome during winter, DO NOT MISS GELATO. My favourite gelato is pistachio. Which requires me to say the word PISTACHIO a lot.
We are all sinners so do not be ashamed if you just realised you have been pronouncing pistachio wrong throughout your entire life.
Its not pis-ta-sho, its pis-ta-kio, like the way you pronounce Pinocchio.
Yes, you read that right.
And its not bru-shetta, its brus-ketta. Remember this when you order an antipasti.
Must try: Gelato from Giolitti

6. Halal Heaven
Rome has a lot of halal shops, so muslim meat lovers, you don't have to worry!
Most of halal shops are located next to Roma Termini train station.
Im a bit embarrassed to tell you this but I ATE A LAMB BRIYANI when I was in Rome because I was missing Malaysian food. And its actually very yummy.
Must try: Pizza by weight
Yep, you decide how big you want your slice to be!

I hope this post will be helpful for you in the future and keep on ROME-ing the world.
Nope? Still a terrible pun? Alright, I'll learn how to improve.
